NYK Starts New Containership Service Linking Asia and the East Coast of South America by Two Loops

June 23, 2015

NYK will team with five other shipping companies — i.e., CMA-CGM, Hamburg Süd, Hapag-Lloyd, China Shipping Container Lines, and United Arab Shipping Company — to start new service in July 2015 linking Asia and the east coast of South America by two loops.

The new loops — NEX1 (New East Coast South America Express 1) and NEX2 (New East Coast South America Express 2) — will make use of 23 containerships, each between 8,000 and 10,000 TEUs, operated by the six shipping companies, thus enabling calls at many ports in the area.

NYK will continue its efforts to provide its customers with an expanded range of transportation services offering comprehensive coverage and greater service quality.
