More than 1,600 scholarships awarded over 24 years
NYK recently offered scholarships to 82 outstanding students studying in China at Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) and Dalian Maritime University (DMU). This marked the 24th consecutive year since 2001 for NYK to fund the education of students at these two universities. NYK has now awarded dedicated scholarships to a total of 1,611 students at SMU and DMU.
NYK recognized 36 students at SMU on November 27, and 46 students at DMU on December 5. At the ceremonies at the universities, NYK's chief representative for China, Nobuki Kurosaka, commented: “The NYK Group has embraced the mission of ‘Bringing value to life’, serving as a reliable shipping and logistics infrastructure that is essential to people's lives, especially in light of numerous conflicts having significant impacts around the world. We hope you will expand your communication with the global community, acquire knowledge and skills in various fields such as shipping, logistics, and environmental sustainability, and develop into the future leaders of society.”
The NYK Group will continue to support maritime education to contribute to global trade and society.
