Confirming Collaboration to Decarbonize the Shipping Industry
On December 8, NYK received a visit from Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Norway’s Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre, Japan’s Ambassador to Norway Hiroshi Kawamura, and about 15 Norwegian officials. NYK Chairman Hitoshi Nagasawa, NYK President Takaya Soga, and others received the delegation and confirmed that NYK and the Norwegian government will continue to work closely to decarbonize the shipping industry.

In his opening remarks, NYK President Soga thanked the Norwegian government for its support, noting that NYK and the Norwegian maritime cluster have been cooperating for many years and, in recent years, have been working together in new areas such as climate change. NYK then introduced its initiatives in decarbonization, and the two sides engaged in a lively exchange of views.
