For a sixth consecutive year, NYK has sponsored a "Charity Run+Walk+α" health promotion event for the entire NYK Group.
Charity Run+Walk was launched in 2017 to promote the health of the Group's employees through running and walking, which are familiar activities, as well as to spread awareness of social issues.
Every year, the sum of the employees' participation fees, together with a matching company donation based on the amount of exercise completed, is donated to Médecins Sans Frontières to help promote the health of people who do not have access to medical services due to conflicts and disasters.
This year, in response to requests from employees, strength training and rowing practice were added to the list of eligible events, and as a result, 194 employees participated.
In recognition of these efforts, this year we were again certified as a "Tokyo Sports Promotion Company” by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
On December 13, a ceremony was held at the Tokyo head office to present the donation to Médecins Sans Frontières.
