Some media outlets have reported that an NYK subsidiary company is the owner of the Liberian-flagged oil tanker Mercer Street, which was attacked on July 29 off the coast of Oman, resulting in the deaths of two European crew members.

There is no fact to any report of ownership of this vessel by an NYK subsidiary company.
