For the 19th straight year, NYK has been selected as a component of the FTSE4Good Index Series,* benchmark indexes designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices. Additionally, for a fifth consecutive year the company has been chosen as a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Index,** an ESG investment index adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
The FTSE4Good Index is a leading indicator used by investors who place importance on corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and as of 2021, 1,045 companies worldwide, including 204 Japanese companies, had been selected.
The FTSE Blossom Japan Index was newly established in 2017 for Japanese companies and is widely used to create and evaluate sustainable investment funds and other financial products.
