NYK and Mitsui & Co. Conclude Time-charter Contract for New LNG Carrier for Cameron LNG Project

On September 26, NYK concluded a time-charter contract with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. (head office: Tokyo; president: Masami Iijima) for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for the Cameron LNG project based in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
The ship will be delivered in 2018 and assigned to transport this project’s LNG for a maximum of 25 years. The new vessel will be owned by Tea Tree Shipping Pte. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK, and an NYK Group company will be responsible for ship management.
In accordance with its “More Than Shipping 2018” medium-term management plan, NYK will continue its efforts to contribute to stable and economical LNG transport services.
