NYK to Launch a New Far East-South Pacific Islands Service

December 20, 2013

NYK will launch a new South Pacific Link (SPL) service between the Far East and the South Pacific islands from January 2014. The vessels in the new SPL service will be operated by NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary company of NYK.

The SPL service will be operated using multipurpose semi-container vessels that will make 72-day round voyages at intervals of every 18 days. The vessels will transport a variety of cargo, such as completed cars and container and conventional cargo, to fulfill the needs of customers. In addition, the service will offer safe and secure handling within an extensive global network to provide a quality, reliable liner service linking the South Pacific islands to the world. The first vessel in the SPL service will be South Islander V.101 calling Busan on January 12.

NYK will continue to make every effort to further strengthen our service network to best meet the needs of our growing customer base.
