Loop 1 MOL Comfort Damaged at Sea

June 18, 2013

We deeply regret to advise you that the hull of M/V MOL Comfort was damaged at around noon (7:00 a.m. local time) on June 17 while the ship was on voyage V.005W21 sailing from Singapore to Jeddah in our Asia–North Europe LP1 service of G6 Alliance. In inclement weather, the vessel cracked amidship and water reportedly ingressed into the hold, making it impossible for the vessel to continue under its own power. The ship is operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd.

According to information we have received, all 26 crew members were fortunately rescued, but some of the containers on the vessel were lost overboard or damaged during the incident. Details are being confirmed.

We are doing our utmost to collect further information regarding the status of cargo being shipped.
