NYK Shipmanagement Holds Ceremony to Celebrate Relocation of New Delhi Office

On December 10, 2012, NYK Shipmanagement Pte. Ltd. (NYKSM; head office: Singapore) held a ceremony to formally open its new office which was relocated to Gurgaon, Haryana, on October 3, 2012.
 
The ceremony was marked by the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, and after a ribbon-cutting, Hemant Pathania, chief operating officer of NYKSM Singapore, formally opened the new office. He gave a brief synopsis of the activities carried out by the NYKSM Gurgaon office, highlighting the organization’s commitment to providing better services to the seafarers of the region and strengthening the motto of the organization by bringing value to life.
 
The ceremony was also attended by Taro Matsushige, manager of NYK’s Marine Group; Kenichi Aoki, general manager of the Maritime Human Resources Group of NYKSM Singapore; Deepak Arora, deputy general manager of the Maritime Human Resources Group of NYKSM Singapore; Michael de Menezes, general manager of NYKSM India; Alok Singh, manager of Tanker Operations; Sedhu Sundaram, vessel manager of NYKSM Singapore; Vinay Kumar, regional manager of NYKSM India; and staff members of NYKSM India.


Safety seminar

NYKSM organized a safety seminar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Gurgaon to coincide with this ceremony, and this seminar was attended by more than 60 senior seafarers from the region, along with delegates from Singapore and Tokyo. In addition, a special presentation was made by a representative of Det Norske Veritas Petroleum Services (head office: Oslo, Norway) highlighting safe, more advanced bunkering practices.
 
The evening culminated with a lavish cocktail and dinner function with NYK seafarers getting the opportunity to engage in informal discussions with the management team from NYKSM Singapore. In addition, NYKSM India staff members who had completed 10 years of service were recognized for their loyalty and dedication to the organization.
